In 1973, Denmark becomes a member of EU.
In 1992, Denmark rejected a treaty which would have led Denmark to use the Euro and have stronger political ties to the EU.
In 1993 voters accepted a similar version of using the Euro so they could be a part of the European citizenship, military, and elimination of borders. But, they are fearful that they will be over-powered by large countries.
When the European Trade Association [EFTA] failed in helping Denmark to trade, Denmark left the EFTA and joined the European Union.
The EU allows goods to move freely across borders; people have more choices over what to buy; they can buy clothing at a cheaper price and no tariffs on EU goods. The people of EU countries can travel freely to other countries to find work. Same currency for most of the countries is used.
More travel unites Europe by allowing Europeans to view Europe as one united region.

3. How does the E.U. and your country feel about global temperatures/climate change? ( What are they doing?)( evironmental issue)
Our country of Denmark, has decided to support and to make and an effort to stop global warming. We chose this decision beacuse, global warming has been
Affecting Denmark and the Danes for the past 25,000 years. One reason we chose to make an effort to stop global warming is beacause, climate forms an integral part of the European Council's agenda. Another reason is, all the 27 Member States in the European Union, both individually and jointly, have been active on a action against climate change now for a number of years. We have decided to take the effort to stop global warming as our country's major priotity. If we don't stop global warming, climate change might start affecting the Danes in a very severe way. An example would be causing diseases like lung disease due to pollution, emmission, and greenhouse gases.

5. What is the economic background of your country and how does your country feel about supporting the economies of weaker countries in the E.U? (economic issue)
Our country, Denmark, is a prosperous country that has one of the world's highest standards of living. Agriculture was Denmark's most important economic source, but in the 1990s it was supplemented by growth in manufacturing and trade. After World War II (1939-1945), Denamrk's fastest growing sectors have been in services such as transportation, tourism, and health care. Industrial goods in Denmark's economy make up the most important exports. Meat, diary products, and fishing are among Denmark's most important exports. The main cash crops include grain, potatoes, and sugar beets. 65 percent of Denmark's land is devoted to agriculture. We have decided to support the economies of the weaker countries in the E.U. Since immigrants moved to Denmark, they are improving integration to sustain the welfare state. So we decided if immigrants are helping us, we should help them back on return. One good thing that can come out of all this is if all the countries in the European Union work together it might help to boost all our economies.
